Autobalance: Part One A/N: So, this is what I've been up to, lately. There's more (a lot more, actually) but here, at least, is what I shall call "Part One." There are... several more.

As to the story itself, its pretty much inspired by (like the title says) the game mechanic Autobalance. In the game, its this random thing that will happen when the teams are unbalanced (for example, its 7 vs 5, etc etc). And, when you're playing a Medic (which I often am) and you're Autobalanced, you find yourself healing somebody who has, a minute or so ago, been horribly killing you over and over. A First Time For Everything Barney wondered if the Science Team at Black Mesa remembered high school. They'd probably all been nerds and geeks, right? Typically picked on by stupid jocks. Right, so... maybe this wasn't personal, maybe this was just them getting a small measure of revenge now that the brainy guys were in charge and the brawny guys were the ones getting bossed around. He wished he could point out that he hadn't been a jock, back in high school. He'd been the crazy consipiracy-nut kid, who hung out with his three crazy conspiracy-nut friends and talked about aliens and government cover-ups. A First Time For Everything by ~Elevensies

I've only been poking around on Version 7 of dA and... I really don't like it. I mean, yay streamlined, and all, but they can *say* that its so you can "see more of the artwork" but... I could see the artwork just fine before, thanks. Now, its not automatically maximized AND some of the ads actually overlap with the artwork.

And by "overlap," I mean "cut off some of the top of the artwork."

I realize I can block adds if I get a Premium Membership. But... I don't know. I just don't like it.

I was having a hard hard time starting my NaNoWriMo story, but once I got past the very very very beginning part and action started happening like I planned, its started to go much faster. ^^

No, I'm not NaNo-ing. It's not the kind of thing I can commit to (And I just DO NOT write that way.) But I admire people who do it. Right now I'm working on a story about my OC (H'omygosh I have one!?) which is being very fun and funny.

Well, I know Chromie's doing her own version of NaNoWriMo, which is just to try and write once a day (I think). But, I understand ^^ Its definitely tough. D:

I am so happy that I finally hit the meaty bits of my story. Basically, the bits I'd been imagining and wanting to write about, which is mostly two characters bickering and eventually becoming best fwends~, while surviving, like, an alien invasion >.> So yes.

I'm sorry to hear you have the flu, though D: D: Sending you LOTS OF LOVE. Get better sooooon!
